Searches with missing first word of a multi-word search return no results/documents #4534
-
Referring to documentation example about words relevancy criteria (i.e. https://www.meilisearch.com/docs/learn/core_concepts/relevancy#1-words), searching for "spiderman dark knight" (assuming there is no document containing "spiderman", while at least one containing "dark knight") does not return any document. In there any setting we can leverage to get documents with "dark knight" being returned? Thanks! |

Hello @maiorfi,
By default, when there are not enough documents to return, Meilisearch will remove the last typed word of the query before continuing the search process. This can be customizable using the matching-strategy setting. However, there are not that many strategies for now, but we may extend the list in the future depending on the users' needs.
