Is it possible add string array as celldata?

Hi Marco,
I try my best to add a string tag for every cell in mesh but failed.
The raised error is: "TypeError: Could not find a suitable VTK type for <U11". My question is the string can not be celldata?
Here is my test script:

By the way: As you see, the problem about adding callback base on mode 6 is solved by vtk AddObserver functionality.

Hi Ziguo, no - it is not possible.
What you can do is to add an independent array of strings to the mesh. This array will have the same length as the nr of cells.
This is done by eg
mymesh.metadata["name_of_array"] = ['a', 'b', 'c', ...]

Note that if you need labels you have the method mymesh.labels() and mymesh.labels2d() to annotate a mesh.

Thanks for your suggestions firstly.
I just have some time to continue programing after making other things done.
Adding metadata to the cell is just what I want.😀
