I'm closing this. I've had some head scratching moments about this, and even if I could probably fix the history for these empty commits for the 0.123.0 release, I notice that the problem is older. I'm going to fix it upstream and leave the history as is. This repo has a rather long and ugly Git history even without these, I guess, so I suggest that when we finally get to the v2 of the hugoDocs, we should start over in a new repo.
