No sensor notification in Home app

I have Xiaomi Gateway (1st gen).
Successfully paired it with homebridge and iOS Home app.
I have Xiaomi water leak sensor, connected to Gateway. The sensor appeared both in homebridge and home apps, I even see sensor's battery status in home app.
Today I tried to test notifications, but no luck. There was no notification from iOS Home app, only from MiHome.
ps. I don't have any apple hub (HomePod, iPad, appleTV ), maybe that's the issue?
pss. I was at the same network with home bridge server, while testing.
