Dropbox sync not really working / folder navigation on mobile unresponsive

When I work on, create new or try to delete files on iOS the App is generally unresponsive, does not let me delete files (open file > "..." > "Delete"), also, said empty files don't let me navigate back to the parent Folder (via "< Dropbox"). They don't sync via Dropbox (not visible in the dropbox folder, or desktop application.
The main issue ist that creating new files in iOS creates unwanted or faulty behaviour of the app navigation, file consistency and sync.
iOS v11.2.2 / OSX 10.13.3
