Hyprland, built from branch  at commit cba1ade848feac44b2eda677503900639581c3f4  (props: bump version to 0.40.0).

Problem
A clear and concise description of what the bug is.

  1. Say I have something in clipboard and my cursor is on address bar.
  2. Hold Ctrl and press L to focus address bar.
  3. keep holding ctrl and press v, I'll get a v.

This can be reproduced with other hotkeys as well but for simplicity I'll just leave it here as is.

Looks like I can also repro this with chrome, this is likely to be a hyprland issue, I'll file one there.

Regarding the problems caused by hyprland, it is still recommended that you temporarily use wayland (not any compositor derived from wayland) or x11. Personally, I think the Chromium browser on x11 will be much better than on wayland.
